Quality & testing
The analytical methods behind every certificate of analysis, and how to read one.
What every lot is tested for
| Test | What it tells you | Release criterion |
|---|---|---|
| Reverse-phase HPLC | Purity: the share of the sample that is the target peptide, measured by UV absorbance at 214–220 nm. | 【待填写:放行标准,例如 ≥98%】 |
| Mass spectrometry (ESI-MS or LC-MS) | Identity: the observed molecular weight matches the theoretical mass of the sequence. | Within 【待填写:允许偏差,例如 ±1 Da】 |
| Net peptide content | How much peptide each vial actually contains, as opposed to counter-ions and moisture. | 【待填写:是否检测、方法(如氮含量/氨基酸分析)】 |
| Endotoxin / sterility | 【待填写:是否检测,如果不检测请删除此行】 |
Who does the testing
In-house testing is performed on 【待填写:HPLC/MS 设备型号】. Independent verification is carried out by 【待填写:第三方实验室名称(如 Janoshik、Chromate 等)及频率:每批/抽检】.
How to read a certificate of analysis
- Lot number. Must match the lot printed on your vial label.
- Chromatogram. The tallest peak is the target peptide. Smaller peaks are impurities such as truncated sequences. Purity is the main peak area divided by the total peak area.
- Mass spectrum. Look for the observed mass, or its charged ions, close to the theoretical value.
- Date and laboratory. A certificate should name the lab and the test date. Third-party reports can usually be verified on the lab’s own website.
